Alanna Kennedy

Most people only dream of representing their country on the world stage. But for Alanna Kennedy, that dream has turned into reality on more than one occasion – 100 in fact. The former Rosemeadow resident recently celebrated her 100th cap as a Matilda. One game is an achievement but a century of appearances is incredible. It was incredibly fitting that Alanna celebrated the milestone in front of friends and family – and also wore the captain's armband – in the match against Brazil recently. There is no doubt that Alanna has been a big reason for the Matilda's on field success over the years. A towering figure in central defence, opposition players know that getting the better of Alanna is no easy feat. On most occasions, it is near impossible. There is a long line of professional sports people that have learnt their trade on pitches, fields and ovals in Campbelltown. Alanna certainly belongs right up the top of that prestigious list. Congratulations on such a wonderful milestone, Alanna. Both I and the entire Campbelltown community are incredibly proud of what you have achieved.
