Lesley Robson

The Campbelltown Australia Day awards present an opportunity to recognise the unsung heroes of our community. The 2022 awards were certainly no different. Among the plethora of winners was Citizen of the Year, Lesley Robson. Lesley has been an incredible advocate for many years for victims of domestic and family violence in our community. Lesley has helped establish and promote a number of programs and projects to address the issue. Those projects and programs include: the annual 16 Days of Activism; and the Wash Away Violence Program. The 16 Days of Activism begins on November 25 – which coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. It is an incredibly important yearly program that helps to continue to awareness in relation to violence against women. There is no doubt that many, many residents in Campbelltown have benefited enormously from Lesley's tireless contributions. Whilst Lesley it's not accolades and rewards that motivate Lesley to do what she does, it certainly is wonderful that her efforts could be officially recognised. Again, on behalf of the Campbelltown community, congratulations on being named the 2022 Citizen of the Year.
