Teachers don't get into the profession for the accolades. They don't spent years of studying simply because it's a career they feel half-hearted about. Teachers do what they do because they are determine to inspire and help shape the youngest generations in our community. It's that drive that gets them out of bed every day. St Thomas More Catholic Primary School's Liz Jensen is the perfect example of a dedicated and passionate teacher. Liz was recently awarded the 2Day FM Teacher of the Week Award. Liz, a former student at the school, was nominated by one of her students Grace.
Principal Philip Barrington was quick to heap praise on Liz. He was quoted on the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong website saying: "she is a phenomenal teacher and has had a huge impact on her students in short period of time". The Teacher of the Week award really is a wonderful accolade for a teacher that who has gone above and beyond – to support and nurture her students. Congratulations Liz on a very well deserved award and thank you for all your efforts at St Thomas More
